Various "Lionel City Builder 3D" Assets |
"Lionel City Builder 3D: Rise of the Rails" is a 3DS game released in January 2016. In the game, players can choose from either "Story" mode or "Creative" mode. I helped to design icons for the in-game user interface for "Creative" mode, as well as several 3d assets used within this mode.
City Builder Icons, for use within the menu that players use to choose what sorts of buildings or objects to add to your city. They were supposed to be vibrant and a little bit cartoony, while still reading on the tiny 3ds screen.
A selection of City Builder desert rocks for use within the desert environment.
>> Space Shooter
A 2d sidescrolling space shooter, made in GameMaker Studio, with James Palermo, Sofia Randel, Jordi Callaci, and Richard Duan.
Our original idea for the game was “dogs in space,” so I decided fleas would make a good, alien-looking enemy. Even though we didn’t stick with this idea, fleas remained the visual inspiration for the alien “crasher” and “shooter” ships (and for the boss)!
The designs are alien and flea/bug-like, but also show their function (chargers ram into the player, shooters have Big Guns)

>> Gravity RatI created several 2d and 3d assets for use in a student game called Gravity Rat, in which the player is a lab rat trying to escape a complex mazelike "test", and is able to manipulate gravity in order to make their way to the end of the maze.
I worked on this game with James Palermo and Carly Auyong. |
